Have you eaten your amino acids today?
Here we are with just the tip of the iceberg when I mention amino acids. I’ll tell you there are over 20 amino acids found in protein with 8 of them being essential for life. So there’s your answer. Have you eaten protein today? If you have, you have eaten some amino acids. In a nutshell, amino acids are the building blocks of protein.
I’m going to go over each amino as I go through the alphabet. I mentioned l-arginine in a previous post, but I wanted to go back and mention the whole category being my topic today. Wow, you could just study what each amino does and it’s an amazing thing what these building blocks do in our bodies. From detoxifying our liver to building muscle to stopping brain chatter, each one has it’s own job. What a factory, what a science.
What I mean is there are the essential amino acids we must get from foods and then the non essential amino acids can be made by our bodies on it’s own. It’s kinda like the essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6 need to be eaten for our bodies to get them. But we don’t need to eat omega 9(olive oil) because our body can actually build it on it’s own. Hope that made sense. I even had to re read it.
So eat healthy, lean protein each and every day. I’ll bring them up by alphabet and you’ll get to know what each one does. Very exciting, no I mean it….
