Holy Mercury Batman!

I have no idea how I came up with that title, except right now the trend is talking and becoming aware of mercury in food, the environment, and in our bodies. Yikes!

Remember in my previous post I wrote about the importance of omega 3 for many health reasons, and mentioned supplements. I said how in my mind the jury is still out regarding which is better fresh fish or a fish oil supplement. Well, I think I’ve reached a decision. The answer is if you have health conditions and fish oil has been shown to help with healthy cholesterol levels, joint health, heart health, brain, eye and nerve health(see how good fish oil is for you) and you have to take therapeutic doses per day. Gentlemen, fish oil supplements is the way to proceed.

Mercury, mercury, mercury, what are we going to do with all the environmental toxins invading our society and bodies causing dis ease. Listen, I just heard a medical doctor on tv say when they tested the new borns ambilical cord for chemicals, ready, the shocker is they found 200 chemicals! 200 hundred chemicals, yes I needed to spell it out. This is why I’m talking to you about healthy eating, organic, natural, and supportive to keeping you healthy. And now what to be aware of when eating fish.

For years doctors and dentists said no worries about mercury fillings, and symptoms of mercury poisoning. Guess what? They are tip toeing in to hinting high mercury can cause certain symptoms. Anyway, let me go on to speak on your diet to help eliminate toxins from your system.

Sulfur foods. Eggs, cilantro and garlic are foods high  in sulfur. You can also take msm which is a suppelment with a sulfur compound and excellent for joint health. They also show plenty of fiber in your diet helps bind and excrete toxins. Finally as I spoke about pampering yesterday, saunas(especially infrared) have been shown to sweat out toxins.

My plug for my nutritional service of hair analysis is one of the best tests for checking mercury content. I saw my medical doctor a year ago, and I must say I’m very glad to have him as my  md, but to go on…I asked him about checking my mercury levels in my blood. He turned to me and said, “oh, the hair analysis is the best method for that”. He didn’t even know I did hair analysis so I was pleasantly pleased to hear his view.

Anyway, I think it’s good for every body to do a hair mineral analysis so I can check toxic metals i.e. mercury, minerals such as zinc, potassium, magnesium, and trace minerals.

Now, have a great Father’s Day, Summer Solstice and eat well, and eat wisely……….
