Ok Sugar, You’re Not My Sweetie Anymore
If there’s one really big thing you can do for your immune system, your weight management, your pancreas, and a host of other positive beauty benefits, I’m going to suggest to cut the sugar out. Everybody say it Ahhhh c’mon Meg, not sugar. I know, I know, you love your sugar fix when you need it. Let me guess, you love chocolate? And if you don’t maybe it’s ice cream? Or maybe, just maybe it’s a frappacino?
Now remember you can get sweet dates, figs, raisins, and dried fruits to put in a trail mix that can really take the place of your usual sugar fix. I have a client who I am amazed at because when she first came to me it was one of her loves at that 4 o’clock hour to eat something full of calories and laden with sugar. But through eating a healthier diet and getting on a regular eating schedule she rarely except maybe at special occasions eats a sugary sweet.
Since I’m speaking on our immune system I want you to know what a negative effect sugar has on it. It a nutshell it lowers our immune system. I know that doesn’t sound very scientific but it’s true. Comment me if you need a scientific fact.
I mentioned dried fruits as a way of substituting a more natural source of sugar. Let me say when I work with clients I find most times they’re not eating enough protein throughout the day. That’s another subject but finding healthy substitutes for your sweet tooth is going to be very important for your body.
Next time you’re at the health food store make sure to pick up some of your favorite dreid fruits, some nuts and make your own mix. More to come, sorry to cut this short, for now.
