Depression is Not a Deficiency of Prozac

Let me lay out a disclaimer right away. I am not a medical doctor, and one should seek medical advice when necessary in cases of depression.

What my point is here stems from my continuing to share my philosphy and give you day to day living nutritionally, and healthfully tips. My story the other day  illustrates that our bodies will exhibit symptoms of health issues and diseases when we’re out of balance nutritionally. And if research and evidence based research can explain what the missing nutritional link is, we can give our bodies nutritionally what it needs and symptoms will go away.  When we’re depressed, we are nutritionally not getting enough of the right nutrients or some would say we have a chemical imbalance.

Research is definitely ongoing here, but there have been some incredible nutrients i.e. fish oil used in conjunction with other supplements to alleviate depression. Depression will also depress your immune system. Another reason I bring up depression.

I think I had posted staying positive which is the positive way to word what I’m talking about today. But I wanted to make a statement in regards to drugs and seeking alternative healthy avenues when possible. Wouldn’t it be great if there was more studies involving healthy living alternatives including nutrition, exercise, supplements, positive mental imaging/meditation and the like to show improvements in dis ease? It is happening, it’s like the tortoise, but it is happening more and more.

Ok, way off track regarding your immune system, but it’s nearing the end of the month and I’m hoping you’ve taken one thing, just one thing I’ve said and included it in your day to day living. I would say this is huge and congratulations to making a positive change. And if you haven’t yet, I challenge you to skim through my past posts and pick one thing you can incorporate starting in the next few days and keep it going in the month of June.

Thinking of you……….
